Dan
Johnson founded AFS in 1985 after spending over 5 years working
in the COLI industry. Leveraging on the belief that the best software
applications are written by content experts
instead of technology experts, he conceived and implemented most
of the core architecture and code for the company's flagship illustration
product, The AFS Master System ®
In addition
to being a pioneer in the US supplemental benefits market, (Dan
was one of the first in the industry to use Flexible Term Riders
for liability tracking and MEC-avoidance), Dan has led the international
expansion of supplemental benefit plans funded by life insurance
and is positioning AFS to be a major provider of core technologies
to facilitate the distribution of insurance products throughout
the world. Fluent in Japanese and conversant in Spanish, Mr. Johnson
has been working with international clients and partners to develop
new life products that comply with the local jurisdiction's tax
and employee benefit laws.
Dan received
his Masters at Harvard University from the joint program in Business
Economics and East Asian Studies.
