Deferral.com,
Inc. names new CEO, COO
WESTON, MA (December
7, 2001) -- Deferral.com, Inc., the provider of an internet platform
for the administration of non-qualified executive deferral plans,
today announced that it has named Joseph C. Hutcheson, II as its President
and Chief Executive Officer, and Megan Roschen as Senior Vice President
and Chief Operating Officer. Deferral.com is a member of the AFS group
of companies, world leaders in developing technology for the supplemental
(non-qualified) benefits market.
Hutcheson joined
the AFS Group of Companies in the summer of 2000, serving as CFO
and General Counsel, and is a member of the Board of Directors.
He will continue in these roles as he takes on the top role at Deferral.com.
Chairman and founder Daniel R. Johnson notes that Hutcheson's appointment
has come at the right time, "Joe Hutcheson will bring to Deferral.com
wise and consistent leadership that will serve as an excellent foundation
as the company launches into a stage of rapid growth."
Prior to joining
AFS, Hutcheson made ample use of his JD and an MBA in finance, practicing
corporate law for many years in Boston, where he was heavily involved
in new business finance, mergers and acquisitions, and intellectual
property licensing, while representing both large and small financial
institutions and entrepreneurs.
Megan Roschen
has led the project team that developed the Deferral.com website,
and continues to oversee its on-going operations as large financial
institutions, nationally-prominent Third Party Administrators and
direct plan administrators implement share-based deferral plans
on the site. Roschen has substantial experience in plan administration
software, having been actively involved in the Deferral Tracking
System, the desktop-based predecessor to the Deferral.com
technology. Prior to joining AFS, Roschen worked as a senior non-qualified
benefit plan administrator for more than a decade with two premier
firms in the U.S. supplemental benefits market.
Hutcheson, and
Roschen join Alok Mehta, Chief Technology Officer, and Lisa Spurlock,
Chief Marketing Officer, comprising the executive team responsible
for determining the company's strategic direction. Founded in 2000,
Deferral.com provides an Internet platform for the administration
of non-qualified deferral plans. Administrators can use Deferral.com
to control all aspects of plan implementation, liability management
and participant access through a secure Internet connection. Deferral.com
replaces error prone spreadsheets and legacy 401(k) systems that
are too rigid to handle the greater complexity of non-qualified
plans. The management of non-qualified plan liabilities is seen
as a rapidly growing market segment as companies are projected to
book hundreds of billions of liabilities over the next decade.
