Master System Provides Split Dollar Alternatives

Based on the recent IRS Notice 2002-8 (which revokes 2001-10), AFS has developed functionality that deals with the proposed regulations for an alternative to the traditional Collateral Assignment Split Dollar (CASD)/Equity Split Dollar case design. Until the law is clarified, we are preserving all the familiar modeling options, including various taxation models, so that alternatives can easily be compared.

The new functionality provides users with a viable approach to designing executive benefit plans that will comply both with current IRS regulations and those proposed in IRS Notice 2002-8. AFS will continue to refine system functionality as the final regulations are published.

Select from the links below for a brief description of the proposed regulations and the corresponding system changes that have been made to allow AFS clients to accommodate these new alternatives.
